Chief Executive OfficerJulie Turpin joined The Advocator Group in August 2012 from GCG Risk Management Consultants, where she was a Principal and Head of Operations. Prior to GCG, she was the Senior Vice President and Head of Operations in the Midwest Zone for Marsh USA. Julie brings over 14 years of experience in executive roles with legal, energy, and insurance brokerage companies with both US-based and global operations to her role as CEO. As CEO of The Advocator Group, Julie holds responsibility for Adeo Solutions, as well as Aevo Insurance Services, LLC.
Throughout her career, Julie has led organizations to achieve process improvements, productivity gains, and higher output. With Julie’s ability to build high performance teams and to motivate employees to provide superior customer service, all of the service lines under Julie’s purview deliver exceptional results and are poised for continued growth.
Chief of StaffMelissa Prudente joined The Advocator Group in 2003 as one of the original members of staff. In her years with the organization, she served in a number of capacities prior to moving into her current role as on the Senior Leadership Team.
Melissa graduated from Framingham State College in 2001, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Deviance. Melissa earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Lesley University in 2007 and has certificates in Project Management as well as Human Resources Management. As The Advocator Group’s Chief of Staff, Melissa has oversight of Adeo Solutions and serves as Client Relationship Officer.
Vice President of Strategic ProgramsLauren Lomas joined The Advocator Group in 2008, moving from roles as a Hearing Advocate, to Director of Benefit Coordination, to Vice President of Client Services, to her current role as Vice President of Strategic Programs. While overseeing Client Services, Lauren’s team of skilled advocates worked closely with clients to interpret and explain complex Social Security and Medicare rules and regulations, and guide them through the forms and procedures necessary to obtain benefits. The members of her team completed applications, meet deadlines, analyze medical records, schedule hearings, and interact regularly with Social Security and Medicare administrators. Our Strategic Programs division is focused on our ancillary business lines, including Medicare enrollment support services and Second Injury Fund and reverse offset recovery businesses. Lauren’s deep industry experience and overall business acumen are keys assets in growing and enhancing these service offerings.
Lauren graduated from University of Rhode Island in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English and from the Massachusetts School of Law 2007 with a Juris Doctor. She is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar.
Recovery SpecialistMargaret joined Adeo Solutions in 2011 as a Reimbursement Coordinator. In this role she was responsible for managing caseloads of ongoing reimbursements with various state Trust Funds (MA, NY, WDC and ME). Margaret has built strong relationships with these State Trust Funds as well as with our clients. In her current role as Recovery Specialist, she also assists with customer audits and reviews for the purposes of identifying claims eligible for reimbursement pursuant to Second Injury Fund guidelines.
Margaret earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Salem State and a Paralegal certification from Northeastern University.
Recovery SpecialistSheena focuses on the development of Massachusetts Second Injury Fund claims with the goal of filing initial Petitions for Reimbursement. Sheena’s specialty is working closely with employers to uncover every opportunity to establish evidence of prior knowledge of impairment. Before joining Adeo Solutions, Sheena was a paralegal at a leading workers’ compensation defense law firm for five years.
Sheena earned an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Northern Essex Community College and is currently completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies and Political Science at the University of Massachusetts.
Reimbursement CoordinatorVenessa assists with the completion of ongoing reimbursement requests. She works closely with claim staff to complete the painstaking process of obtaining all supporting medical documentation required by the Trust Funds. Venessa also maintains an open dialog with the examiners at the New York SFCC to ensure timely payment of the biannual WCL Sec. 15.8 requests. Venessa joined Adeo from The Advocator Group, after demonstrating her ability to succeed in a position requiring management of details and persistent follow-up for key claim information.
Venessa is currently completing her Bachelor’s Degree, with honors, at Southern New Hampshire University. Her anticipated graduation date is December of 2014.
